Yesterday I caught up with old friend Scott St Martyn. In the 80's, we were in the touring production of Annie together and in recent years, Scott has become an author, writing his memoirs of life as a 'West End Wendy'.
Scott who is from Watford, England, found a passion for theatre at an early age , and after performing in several local community productions he trained at the prestigious Arts Educational School in London. After graduation Scott travelled Europe performing in Cabaret before returning to the UK to work in regional productions like "King of Hearts", British premier, Edinburgh, "Mack and Mabel", UK premier, Nottingham, and "Jesus Christ Superstar", York, with tours including, the first national tour of "Annie " and the BBCs "The Good Old Days ". His West West end credits include, "42nd Street" (understudying and playing Bert Barrie), "La cage aux folles" (playing Chantal) and "Metropolis" at the Piccadilly Theatre . Having been told on many occasions that he should write a book about his amazing life on and off the stage, he finally found time to write down his hysterical anecdotes and backstage stories in three published books on Amazon. If you like musical theatre, then you will love these books.
I asked Scott if he has more projects in mind, and he told me that he plans to publish a definitive book with all 3 diaries including extra photos in 2026. I look forward to that and wish him luck.
