About
Sea at night_edited.jpg

                                                         Welcome—I'm so glad you’re here.

I write historical fiction that lingers in the heart long after the final page, stories shaped by

resilience, ambition, and the quiet courage of ordinary people living through extraordinary times.

My Julia Series of novels is set against the glittering, unpredictable world of showbusiness,

and I drew on my own years working in the entertainment industry to bring these stories to life.

We see the stage lights and hear the rhythm and romance of the big‑band era through the journey

of singer Evie, the heroine.

My debut novel Julia Sleeps is already out in the world, and its sequel Julia Wakes arrives in April 2026,

carrying readers from the age of swing into the new century; I do hope you'll come along for the ride!

Here, you’ll find updates, behind‑the‑scenes glimpses into my research and writing process,

and early looks at what’s coming next. Whether you’re discovering my work for the first time

or returning after the first book, thank you for stepping into these stories with me.

To quote some of my readers, if you are a fan of Maeve Binchy, Libby Ashworth, Glenda Young,

Dilly Court, & Katie Flynn, then my books might be for you!

Julia Sleeps, Rated 4.8 stars on Amazon 23/03/2026

“…The flame haired songstress wowed the crowds at the old Metropole Theatre last night, we have discovered a vibrant new star! This young girl captivated the audience with her exquisite voice and spirited performance.

Look for her name on the bill on your next night out folks, you won’t be disappointed!”

Glasgow 1936
In the very heart of the city, Evie Jameson, the child of a poor tenement family, is determined to

follow her dreams of becoming a singer, but must persuade her loving family of where her vocation truly lies.
Her path is paved with triumphs and setbacks; 'The world is bigger than Glasgow - do you want to see it?'

her agent challenges her, sparking excitement in her heart. 'Yes! Yes, I do!' she exclaims, and her resolve only deepens when war breaks out and she is called on to serve her country.
The conflict thrusts Evie into dangers and adventures she could never have imagined,

but amid the chaos, will she also find love?
From London in the blitz to magical, mysterious India her courage and integrity are put to the test

and she must draw on the strength forged by her proud Scottish heritage.
Inspired by a true story, Evie’s tale is one of nostalgia, ambition and resilience

where true friendships and love shape both the woman and the singer she is destined to become.
